Night Owl Coffee is a family-run Portland roaster who was looking to update their brand and packaging to reflect the quality and specialness of their product. With their already loyal following, they were concerned that the fundamental elements of their very recognizable existing brand be maintained: the owl icon, and the gold and purple color scheme. They wanted to go for a more sophisticated look, but without appearing overly "designy" or giving the impression of exclusivity. After trying on several directions they ended up going with a look that is quite different from the original. Keeping the owl icon but using it in a different way, we also expanded the color scheme and decided to go with a fully-recyclable bag stock.
