Ash Street Project is one of Portland's great artmaking spaces, centered around clay based sculpture and ceramics. Founders Thomas Orr and Joanna Bloom, both established artists in the fine art ceramics community, have been opening their amazing space to fellow artists and collaborators for years. In 2014, they kicked off a mentorship program for emerging artists, a "laboratory for personal development" in which young artists can develop their body of work before moving on to graduate school or professional art practice.
