Liz Gill Neilson is a branding and interactive designer, printmaker, and painter with degrees from Columbia University (Visual Arts) and Pacific Northwest College of Art (Communication Design). She is Creative Director and co-owner of The Beauty Shop, a Portland design agency that works with businesses and individuals to develop brand strategy, web and print design. Her branding work with The Beauty Shop was honored with a feature in LogoLounge 8 in Spring 2014. The Beauty Shop was also one of three Portland design studios featured in the 2013 PRINT Regional Design Annual's National Design Competition, and in fall 2015, were part of the inaugural Bend Design Conference.
In November 2016, the members of The Beauty Shop created VISIBLE, a non-profit that serves under-represented communities with access to graphic design and other creative services.
Liz's graphic storytelling pieces have been performed internationally with the Portland Chamber Orchestra and other ensembles, and she was an Artist in Residence at Caldera Arts Center in 2010 with her husband and collaborator, composer Duncan Neilson.
